About GeoCraíc Discussions

We are using Groups.io for our discussion site. It uses email to communicate with the group and the group has full access to the message archive. From a timing point of view, the group was started with Issue 42. Right now Github Discussions are also enabled, primarly for feedback on the website. You need a Github account to use it.

Books

The books page is a list of books I think are interesting. They used to have an affiliate link to Amazon.com but my associate account is now dead. The links get you to the books though. Buy at an independent bookstore or get them from the library.

Ads

I hate ads. Who likes them? I hate internet advertising as a business model. If I want to monetize this eventually I will think of another way to do it.

Technical Details

Github Pages

This site is a static site hosted on Github pages. Pretty simple and straightforward to set up and maintain. It has a custom domain. If you have questions, after a web search of your own on how to do it, feel free to open a discussion.

Fathom

This site uses Fathom for web analytics. The appeal of Fathom to me is there are no cookies.
